Neurointerventional Surgery Fellowship
Program Overview
The Neurointerventional Fellowship at Intellirad Imaging provides a comprehensive, hands-on training experience for physicians pursuing advanced expertise in neurovascular interventions. Fellows gain high-volume procedural exposure in a collaborative, clinically rigorous environment designed to build both technical skill and clinical judgment.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria before the start of the radiology fellowship:
- Completion of residency in Neurology, Radiology, or Neurosurgery
- Neurology applicants: Completion of a Neurovascular or Neurocritical Care fellowship
- Radiology applicants: Completion of a Diagnostic Neuroradiology fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in primary specialty
- ECFMG-certified applicants are welcome to apply
Clinical Responsibilities
Fellows are integral members of the care team and will:
- Participate in call rotations and patient rounds
- Assist and perform procedures, progressing to independent practice based on competency
Procedural Training
Fellows receive extensive training across a broad range of neurointerventional procedures, including:
- Diagnostic cerebral angiography
- Stroke thrombectomy
- Carotid and intracranial stenting
- Aneurysm embolization
- AVM/AVF embolization
- Lumbar punctures and lumbar myelography
- Cisternograms
- Epistaxis and trauma embolizations
- Vertebroplasty
- MMA embolization
- Oncologic embolizations
- Additional advanced procedures
Technology & Facilities
The radiology fellowship is supported by a state-of-the-art imaging infrastructure, including:
- Philips Azurion system
- Two Siemens Artis Icono systems
- Three GE IGS 630 units
This advanced platform ensures efficient workflow, high-resolution imaging, and precision in complex neurovascular interventions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $70,000–$80,000 (based on experience and PGY level)
- Health and malpractice insurance provided
Additional Perks:
- $2,000 annual book stipend
- Up to $2,000 for conference expenses
- 4 weeks of paid time off
