Aventura Hospital’s Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is a comprehensive four-year training experience designed to prepare physicians for certification by the American Board of Radiology. Built on a strong academic foundation and enriched by hands-on clinical training, the program offers residents exposure to a wide range of imaging modalities, subspecialties, and hospital environments.
A Diverse and Dynamic Training Environment
IntelliRad supports the Graduate Medical Education (GME) effort by offering a robust residency structure that includes:
- 24 total residents
(7 R1s, 7 R2s, 5 R3s, 5 R4s) - Thoughtfully designed rotation schedule
Residents complete rotations based on both body systems (such as neuroradiology, breast imaging, cardiac imaging, etc.) and imaging modalities (including emergency radiology, MRI, and more). This dual approach ensures balanced training that builds deep clinical expertise. - Multi-site clinical experience
Residents rotate through several South Florida hospitals, including:
Aventura Hospital
Kendall Hospital
Westside Hospital
Mercy Hospital (for IR and mammography R4 residents)
These varied clinical settings expose trainees to diverse patient populations and a wide spectrum of pathology.
